Shed and Garages

The Cedars Estate has 161 garages and 168 storage sheds available to rent. To be eligible to rent either, you must be a resident on the estate and have no arrears on your rent or service charge account.

Sheds

Each block of flats has three storage sheds, available to rent from CETRA Housing at £50.00 per year. Each shed measures approximately 1.5m wide, 1.4m long, and 2.34m high.

Please contact the CETRA Housing office on 020 7926 7555 or email cedars@lambeth.gov.uk to register your interest. Eligible residents will be added to the list and contacted once a shed becomes available.

leaseholders who sub-let their property, their sub-tenants are not eligible to rent a shed on the Cedars Estate.

How to pay

The annual shed payment is due by 1st April. You can pay using any of the following methods:

• In person at the CETRA office, where we now accept card payments.

Garages

Garages on the Cedars Estate are owned and managed by Lambeth Council, which also sets the rent. Garage rent is paid directly to Lambeth Council, not to CETRA.

Eligibility

You can apply for a garage if you are:

• the main tenant or leaseholder living on the estate, or
• a member of the main tenant/leaseholder’s household, living with them on the estate

You’ll need to provide proof of this (e.g. a tenancy agreement, lease, or evidence that you live in the household), and have a vehicle registered in your name at your Cedars Estate address.

Non-resident leaseholders and sub-tenants will only be offered garage within the Chase Garage area of the estate. 

You must have a vehicle to be eligible; registering it to your Cedars Estate property is encouraged but not required.

Blue badge subsidy
Blue badge holders can apply for a subsidy of £5 off the standard weekly rent.

CETRA does not rent garages to anyone who neither lives on nor owns a property on the Cedars Estate.

Garage Charges (from April 2026)

How to apply

To apply, contact the CETRA Housing office to register your interest. You’ll be given a list of available garages and asked to confirm your preferred choice. Once your eligibility is confirmed and a garage chosen, a viewing will be scheduled, and sign-up will then be arranged, usually on a Friday.

At sign-up, please bring:

• your V5 (log book)
• your current insurance certificate
• proof of tax (email confirmation, receipt, or a GOV.UK screenshot)
• payment for a minimum of one week’s rent

If you hold a paper visitor parking permit, please bring it to sign-up so CETRA can add your garage number to it. If you have an electronic resident’s permit, CETRA staff will add the garage number for you.

Ending your garage rental

To give up your garage, provide one week’s written notice to the CETRA Housing office. Notice is accepted from the first available Sunday, with the tenancy ending the following Sunday (7 days later)
